This June, cause marketing technology leader CafeGive Social launches a year-long initiative to empower girls and women. From providing equipment for young female rockers to providing app and social media workshops, CafeGive aims to support nonprofits that provide leadership and education opportunities for female leaders.

CafeGive Social is declaring 2014-2015 the 'Year For All Girls' with the launch of its new initiative to promote female leadership and education. This June, the cause marketing technology company is kicking off the first of several campaigns aimed towards empowering girls and women.

As a female-lead app company and Certified B Corporation, CafeGive is not only dedicated to making the world a better place, but also to championing the voice and impact of girls and women. As part of a new initiative to promote girls' leadership opportunities and education, especially in the technology and entrepreneurial space, CafeGive will be teaming up with several girl-centric nonprofits over the next year. The company hopes that, through their support, they can not only advance girls' empowerment, but also bring awareness to and involve even more businesses in this important issue.

CafeGive is part of a network of over 1,000 companies worldwide, known as B Corps, that are dedicated to using business as a force for good. As part of its June Call-To-Action, CafeGive is inviting other B Corps to join it in supporting its campaigns as partners or by promoting the initiative.

The Portland-based app company is specifically partnering with local and national organizations that support girls' leadership, empowerment, education, health, and social change. One of its first campaigns is a Goods 'n' Gear Drive and fundraising initiative to benefit Rock 'n' Roll Camp for Girls. The campaign, which starts in June, will raise needed equipment and funds for RNRC4G and support them in their mission to amplify the voices of girls and women. CafeGive Social will be calling on its B Corp community to get involved and to help them promote awareness.

“The Goods ‘n’ Gear Drive for Rock ‘n’ Roll Camp for Girls is just the start of our year-long effort to engage and support organizations that promote female leadership and education,” said Sandra Morris, CEO and Co-Founder of CafeGive Social. “We believe that the key to creating lasting social change starts with empowering women and girls, and we’re excited to be a part of that through this initiative.”

Additional campaigns will include hosting a technology and design workshop for young women and girls, partnering with health organizations, and crowdsourced voting and video events. In order to make the campaigns as successful as possible, CafeGive Social will also use its own cause marketing and social media apps.

Fewer than 3% of all technology companies are started by women, according to a recent Dow Jones VentureSource report. Of those intrepid entrepreneurs, over 80% say that they had mentors that helped them and their venture to succeed. By launching this year-long initiative, CafeGive Social hopes to support the organizations who empower young women and girls, and help the next generation of women to follow their dreams.
