Midwest trucking firm Calhoun Truck Lines (formerly Universal Transportation Services) is growing its Midwestern presence with the opening of a new terminal in Indianapolis, IN, the company announced today.

Calhoun Truck Lines will provide local/regional drayage services at its new Indianapolis hub, as well as expanding its existing services between Indianapolis and Chicago. Calhoun also hired Leah Whitten to lead the new Indianapolis operation as terminal manager.

“Our expansion in Indianapolis marks a sure sign of growth for Calhoun Truck Lines in the Midwest region’s intermodal trucking business,” said company president Brent Bois. “Having Leah Whitten head up our operation will ensure a great start in Indianapolis, too. Leah has been in the intermodal trucking industry since 1998, and brings great industry knowledge and a high level of professionalism to our organization. We’re excited for the business opportunity that we see in Indianapolis.”

Indianapolis was chosen over several other cities for Calhoun Truck Lines expansion plans, due to its geographical proximity to Calhoun’s other four Midwest trucking operations in Detroit, Chicago, Minneapolis, and Omaha. Each operation is fully equipped to handle large intermodal trucking needs. Calhoun Truck Lines is certified to run in all 48 states with a Midwestern regional focus.

Calhoun Truck Lines is excited to grow its business, and will continue to deliver great service that consistently meets our customers’ expectations,” continued company president Brent Bois. “Our responsibility continues with providing a professional working environment for our employees, and maintaining a safety conscious truck fleet to share the roads with fellow motorists.”
