Lyle Castle, Ph.D., Named Cambridge Who's Who Professional of the Year in Heterocyclic Chemistry

Lyle Castle, Ph.D., editor, CEO and president of Hetero Corporation and chemistry professor at Idaho State University, has been named Professional of the Year in Heterocyclic Chemistry by Cambridge Who's Who.

Pocatello, ID (PRWEB) December 20, 2006 -- Lyle Castle, Ph.D., editor, CEO and president of Hetero Corporation and chemistry professor at Idaho State University, has been named Professional of the Year in Heterocyclic Chemistry by Cambridge Who's Who. At Hetero Corporation, Castle oversees management of the Journal of Heterocyclic Chemistry, established by his father, Raymond N. Castle, in 1964. Hetero Corporation also publishes scientific works in the field of heterocyclic chemistry. As a professor at Idaho State University, Castle, whose expertise is in heterocyclic chemistry, heterocyclic synthesis and the application of compounds for solar energy conversion devices, conducts research and teaches in all areas of organic chemistry, including synthetic methods, chromatography, 1D and 2D NMR, photochemistry and theoretical methods.

Castle received his Ph.D. in physical and organic chemistry from the University of South Florida, his master's degree in chemistry from the University of Nebraska, and his bachelor's degree in chemistry from Southern Utah University. He is a member of Phi Kappa Phi, the American Chemical Society, the International Society of Heterocyclic Chemistry and Sigma Xi. He has published 30 works in the field of heterocyclic chemistry and is a sought-after speaker on the topic.
