Company Launches Military Charity Campaign for Facebook Followers

On June 1, 2012, Capitol Supply is launching its “Like to Give” campaign for the Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund. For each "Like" that Capitol Supply receives on its Facebook page, the company will donate $1.00 to the A-rated charity for up to $1,000 in a single month.

"Like" to Give campaign launches with Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund

There is growing concern about the availability of resources for injured military personnel – especially those returning from combat. Charities serving military members and their families are struggling to find resources to meet the demands for these service men and women.

Enter Capitol Supply, a company that has been providing for the needs of military bases and government customers for nearly three decades. In an effort to give back, Capitol Supply is launching a “Like” to Give Campaign to bring awareness to military charities that are serving military personnel and their families.

Starting June 1, 2012, the company will donate $1 for every Facebook “Like” it receives on its Facebook company page. The page itself will feature a different military charity each month, for a total of twelve different charities being helped throughout the year. The first month launches with the Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund. And the company will donate $1 for each of the first 1,000 “Likes” it receives, for a total donation of $1,000.

The Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund, founded in 2004, provides much needed assistance to post 9-11 Marines and Sailors, as well as members of the Army, Air Force or Coast Guard who serve in support of the Marine forces.

The Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund, which has an A+ ranking from the American Institute of Philanthropy, provides support for service members with traumatic brain injury (TBI) and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and other severe injuries.

Capitol Supply hopes that other businesses will follow suit and find creative ways to both donate to charities and inspire others to do so.

David Ostan, the Capitol Supply’s Vice President of Sales, who personally worked on quality of life initiatives for the Air Force in Germany, hand-picked each of the charities himself. Mr. Ostan is uniquely qualified to make these selections as he has traveled to almost every military installation in the world. He’s seen, first hand, the effects that active duty has on returning soldiers, airmen, seaman, and marines.

David commented, “Military charities provide a valuable and much needed resource for injured soldiers and their families.”

He goes on to explain Capitol Supply’s role - “A lot of what we do with sales is connected with military families. We provide products to facilities on military installations that support quality of life; fitness centers, child development centers, and libraries, for example. The “Like” to Give Campaign will enable us to take that one step further and help to improve the quality of life for severely injured military personnel.”

Robert Steinman, the company CEO approved the charity campaign as soon as it was presented to him. “We are dedicated to supporting our returning marines. We could not be more proud of the men and women who serve our country”.

Capitol Supply was founded on December 22, 1983 in Washington, DC. The privately owned company is now based in Sunrise, Florida.
