Rep. Thomas Sloan Attends Pinnacle Career Institute's Career Fair
State Representative Thomas Sloan, who currently serves Kansas' 45th District, visited Pinnacle Career Institute's Career Fair on June 16.
Lawrence, Kan. (Vocus/PRWEB ) July 8, 2009 -- State Representative Thomas Sloan, who currently serves Kansas' 45th District, visited Pinnacle Career Institute's Career Fair on June 16.
Representative Sloan is one of many dignitaries who have visited Pinnacle Career Institute campuses throughout the month. PCI is one of many thousand career colleges in the United States that is providing students with an education that trains them for a specific career.
When taking a tour of campus, Sloan observed first-hand the advantages and opportunities the campus offers students. During his visit, he spoke to the student body at a campus-wide career fair and discussed the importance of higher education and skilled training. He also addressed a number legislative issues regarding education at this time.
Sloan served on the Kansas State Senate as Chief-of-Staff to Bob Talkington, first as Senate Majority Leader and then as Senate President. After serving as Chief-of-Staff, Tom served as Special Assistant to the Secretary of Corrections; and then Executive Director of KPL/Western Resources' Government Relations, Corporate Communications, and Economic Development Departments; before seeking the 45th District's seat in the Kansas House of Representatives in 1994.
Kansas Representative Thomas Sloan toured the PCI learning facility located at 1601 W. 23rd Street, Suite 200 Lawrence, Kansas 66046. During the visit, he talked with administrators, faculty and students.
