Former major league player Carlos Delgado will be part of the event "State of Now (140 Conference)" to be held in New York from June 18-21.
The State of NOW exposes the power the Internet has to disrupt businesses, change lives and creates serendipity. The conference is given by renowned figures; an each one only has 10 minutes to talk in order for the speaker to effectively convey his message to the audience without loosing momentum. This concept was created in 2009 by Internet entrepreneur Jeff Pulver known for his work as Founder and Chief Executive of pulver.com and early partner in Vonage. The Puerto Rican athlete ten minute talk is titled "Making the Difference" and will present attendees how social networks have changed Delgado’s perceptions on communications. Delgado will discuss the effect of these platforms in his life, having retired after 17 years in MLB (Major League Baseball) and how they have allowed him to expand his philanthropic side and use them actively for the benefit of does he helps in his non-profit organization "Extra Bases". Extra Bases helps under privilege kids have a better way of life and supports the efforts of other local organizations that share the same mission.
