Cassandra Turner, an acclaimed Singapore Mathematics teacher, trainer and consultant, will be a featured presenter at the National Conference on Singapore Math Strategies, taking place July 15-19, 2013 in Las Vegas.
Organized annually since 2009 by Staff Development for Educators (SDE), the conference has gained in popularity each year as the Singapore Math® curriculum has been adopted nationwide by increasing numbers of schools.
The 2013 Conference will mark Turner’s first appearance at SDE’s National Conference, which is the leading annual event devoted to Singaporean Math strategies . Turner will present sessions on Developing an In-House Singapore Math “Go-To” Expert, Making Math Assessment Meaningful and more!
An independent math trainer and seminar presenter since 2008, Turner has introduced Singapore Math® to thousands of teachers, administrators and parents in 30 U.S. states, Mexico, Canada and Ghana. More than three dozen schools have chosen Turner to help them implement Math from Singapore. Last year, Turner made two trips to the Republic of Palau to assist the Ministry of Education (MOE) with its adoption of the Singapore Math® Curriculum.
In addition to Turner, the 2013 National Conference on Singapore Math Strategies will feature Singaporean educator and author Yeap Ban Har, PhD, award-winning math educator Dan Meyer, and math expert and prolific author Greg Tang.

Singapore Math is a teaching method based on the national curriculum of Singapore, with a strong emphasis on problem solving and model drawing, and a focus on in-depth understanding of the essential math skills recommended in the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics Curriculum Focal Points, the National Mathematics Advisory Panel, and the Common Core State Standards in Mathematics.
The 2013 National Conference on Singapore Math Strategies will offer up several brand-new benefits for educators, many of which are based on feedback from 2012 attendees. For the first time in its five-year history, the conference will extend its former K-6 grade range to invite seventh and eighth grade educators.

Cassandra Turner has been “passionate about the Singapore Math® Program” since first encountering it in 2001. An independent math trainer and consultant since 2008, Cassy has had the pleasure of introducing Singapore Math to thousands of teachers, administrators and parents in 30 U.S. states, Mexico, Canada and Ghana.
