The Center for Maine Craft is thrilled to host the Woodturning School Studio Day, 10am - 4pm, May 23, 2009 (rain date: Monday May 25). Objects by the Woodturning School's artists and faculty are currently featured in the Center for Maine Craft's exhibition gallery space through May 31st. The Studio Day will be an exciting opportunity to learn how the artists create the beautiful turned wood cups, bowls, vases, candlesticks, pepper mills and more, currently on display. Please mark your calendars and plan to stop by for a fun, educational event.
The Woodturning School was founded in 2004. Located in beautiful and historic midcoast region of Maine, the school offers structured courses, professional instruction, small classes, and plenty of individual attention. The staff and visiting instructors are professional woodturners: woodturning and teaching are their passion.
This Studio Day event and all summer programming take place at the Center for Maine Craft in West Gardiner and are free and open to the public. On a sunny day please join us out on the lawn!

The Center for Maine Craft: A Maine Crafts Association Project
The Maine Crafts Association, a non-profit organization, encourages growth and increased awareness of the significant role craft artists play in Maine's culture, economy and heritage. Revenue generated by sales at The Center for Maine Craft helps to fulfill the Association's mission.
The Center for Maine Craft is located in the West Gardiner Travel Plaza. The Travel Plaza is also home to clean facilities, a small market, Starbucks and several eateries. The West Gardiner Service Plaza is conveniently located immediately off I-295 &95 on Route 126: Exit 103 from 95 South; Exit 102 from 95 North; Exit 51 from I-295.
