Charleston to Give Away the Ultimate Destination Wedding
America's most amazing couple to win a timeless celebration worth $80,000.
Charleston, SC (PRWEB) July 17, 2008 -- The Charleston Area CVB, along with its partners, is giving engaged couples across America the chance to win a Charleston destination wedding. The weekend will be complete with a rehearsal dinner, ceremony for 50 people, lodging for 20, flowers, cake, wedding dress, brunch, catering, harbor cruise, photographer, entertainment and ground transportation. With an estimated value of $80,000, the April 3-5, 2009 celebration will be a weekend to remember. To enter, couples are required to fill out an application and submit a three-minute video by August 29 at Charleston Wedding Giveaway.
The couples will be judged based on the appeal of their video submission. The finalist couples will be posted for online voting in September. The winner will be announced in October 2008. The wedding weekend will take place from April 3-5, 2009.
Wild Dunes Resort on the Isle of Palms, a true wedding destination, will host the ceremony, reception, lodging, offer golf for five foursomes and a one-year anniversary trip. The couple will spend their wedding night in the Presidential Suite at The Mills House Hotel in downtown historic Charleston. The property offers the quintessential Charleston experience combining old-world charm and contemporary luxury.
A rehearsal dinner will take place on the Ashley River at picturesque Middleton Place where guests will be surrounded by 65 acres of America's oldest landscaped gardens, magnificent Live oaks draped with Spanish moss and thousands of blooming azaleas and dogwoods. Charleston Flower Market will create vibrant bouquets for the bridal party. The bridal luncheon will be served at High Cotton where Bloody Marys and live jazz music flow in perfect harmony.
Top rated event planners, Something to Celebrate, will work closely with the couple to ensure their special day is unforgettable. Duvall Catering & Event Design will provide hors d'oeuvres during cocktail hour and a seated dinner with an impressive menu to ensue. Local Charleston favorite, Ashley Bakery will also create a customized wedding cake for the bride and groom.
New York designers Anna-Maijer and Ulla-Maija of Maddison Row Bridal Chic will provide a custom gown, including a carriage ride to the private bridal appointment, in-store fittings and alterations and gown preservation. Nationally renowned Dulles Designs will be providing an exquisite invitation suite covering all events throughout the weekend. At the reception, guests will party with the Joe Clark Big Band. Lea Dales Photography and the Chart Group will be on-site to capture the special day through photography and video.
A morning-after brunch will be provided for all 50 guests aboard SpiritLine Cruises and will offer a unique and unforgettable day. Absolutely Charleston will provide transportation to and from the weekend's events. The trolley fleet charms guests by using vehicles reminiscent of a bygone era.
