American League Championship Series tickets for sale have been selling quickly at QueenBeeTickets.com once the two participating teams, the New York Yankees and the Detroit Tigers, became known. The ALCS has provided some of the most memorable moments in baseball history, and purchasing cheap ALCS tickets from QueenBeeTickets.com will allow fans to experience those moments themselves. Fans have been looking to find ALCS tickets ever since the Baltimore Orioles swept the Minnesota Twins, 3-0, in 1969.
The Yankees claimed the AL East Division championship this year by moving two games ahead of the Orioles on the final day of the season when New York knocked off Boston, 14-2, and the Orioles fell to Tampa Bay, 4-1. The Yankees then outlasted Baltimore in an exciting Division Series, 3-2. New York won the third game in 12 innings, 3-2, and the Orioles claimed the fourth contests in 13 innings, 2-1. The Yankees then won the series with a 3-1 victory in the deciding contest.
Detroit took home the AL Central Division crown and then moved past the Oakland Athletics in another tight five-game Division Series affair, 3-2. After the A’s won twice to tie the series, 2-2, Justin Verlander tossed a complete-game gem in a 6-0 Tigers victory to wrap up the series. Miguel Cabrera led the Tigers offensively in 2012, winning baseball’s Triple Crown for the first time since 1967. He finished first in the league statistically in batting average (.330), home runs (44) and RBIs (139).
The series starts at Yankee Stadium with a pair of games on Saturday and Sunday at 8:07 and 4:07 p.m., respectively. Comerica Park in Detroit plays host to games on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. The first two games of that three-game stretch starts at 8:07 p.m., and the Thursday contest will begin at 4:07 p.m. The Yankees then welcome the Tigers back to Yankee Stadium for 8:07 p.m. contests on Oct. 20 and 21. Cheap ALCS tickets are available at QueenBeeTickets.com for each of those contests.
The Yankees have won the most ALCS titles with 11, although just one of those came since 2003. That occurred in 2009. New York won the ALCS six out of eight years between 1996-2003 and claimed four straight from 1998-2001. The Yankees had perhaps their most emotional ALCS moment in 2003 when fans holding MLB tickets experienced Aaron Boone ending an incredible 11-inning contest with the Boston Red Sox to claim game seven of that series by a 6-5 score.
Detroit has claimed two ALCS titles, in 1984 and 2006. Both of those series wins were sweeps, 3-0 and 4-0, respectively. The Tigers also had their own walk-off home run to finish off a series in 2006 when Magglio Ordonez ended a 6-3 victory over the Athletics in game four with a three-run home run in the bottom of the ninth inning. Tigers fans looking to find ALCS tickets are hoping to experience similar emotions in 2012.
