Clearly Contacts Sends Disabled Kids to Summer Camp
Clearly Contacts, the premier online supplier of contact lenses, eyeglasses and the latest vision enhancement products is increasing its efforts to surpass last year's record setting fundraising by once again supporting the Easter Seals 24HR Relay Race.
Vancouver, British Columbia (Vocus/PRWEB ) May 29, 2009 -- Clearly Contacts, the premier online supplier of contact lenses, eyeglasses and the latest vision enhancement products is increasing its efforts to surpass last year's record setting fundraising by once again supporting the Easter Seals 24HR Relay Race. The Company team, The Clearly Crusaders, will give it their all to raise money for this worthwhile cause.
This year Clearly Contacts is focusing on sending 4 kids to summer camp by raising $9600 in cash from its internal fundraising efforts in addition to community outreach. Furthermore, to encourage more people to participate in the relay, Clearly Contacts will donate 500 pairs of free sunglasses to relay runners and Easter Seals campers. "We're a more experienced group this year," says Edith Crespin, Human Resources Generalist for Clearly Contacts. "And in this economy we're just going to have to bring a little bit more to the game and work harder to get the job done."
Started in Burnaby in 1978, the race is one of the best known and most widely anticipated charity events in the nation. The overall goal of the race is to support children with disabilities and give them a chance to go to summer camp where they're free from life's daily challenges. "They're a great group of people to work with," says Edith. "What they do on their end of things to make this happen is just astounding! And Clearly Contacts is proud to be a loyal supporter and fully committed participant."
Clearly Contacts has scheduled events that include a pub night and an evening of poker, the interoffice 50/50 draw as well as going out into the city selling raffle tickets and collecting soda cans. The most lucrative and creative idea to come out of Clearly Contacts has been the Apprentice Show-Down. Two of the Companies executives have been pitted against one another to see which team can raise the most money for the charity.
"Friendly competition goes along way at Clearly Contacts. We are a motivated, youthful, and competitive group and we have a lot of fun with it. Team Terry is going down!" states Crespin.
Clearly Contacts has become Canada's largest optical store by putting people and community first and working with The Easter Seals organisation is one more way they demonstrate that commitment. The race begins on June 20th this year and Clearly Contacts has added a link on their homepage to provide all the necessary information to participate in a variety of ways.
