"I'm thrilled to be speaking at the Independent Games Conference West," said Jana. "So many recent advancements in technology have made themselves available to the developer on a smaller budget that it is a truly remarkable time in the industry. All the old dinosaurs of game design methodology are becoming extinct and the new generation of developers gets to inherit the new world."

Jana is one of only 15 speakers from around the country chosen to speak at this annual conference. His lecture titled 'Evolution of a Control Freak,' will focus on the development of human and computer interaction in relation to its effect on game design and how it will impact game playing in the future.

"We encourage our instructors to be active in the industries that they teach and to demonstrate thought leadership," said Collins College president, Christine Murphy. "This is not only a great opportunity for Dev but also our students as he will be able to share key learnings from the top experts at the conference with our students."

Jana came to Collins College in the summer of 2008 after teaching game design at Brown College in Minnesota. Throughout his career, Jana has played many roles that have contributed to his success in the game design industry. From earning his master of fine arts degree in 3D-special effects and animation, to co-founding Nontunfun Games, to his current role as a partner at Cat's Cradle Studios, Jana continues to develop his own skills while he teaches.

Collins College offers a bachelor's of arts degree in game design. The program can be completed in as little as 120 weeks and prepares students for a variety of entry-level positions. For more information on this program, please visit: www.collinscollege.edu/programs/game-design.asp
