Phoenix, AZ (Vocus/PRWEB ) November 10, 2009 -- Collins College today announced that Christine Murphy has joined the college as president. Murphy is a seasoned professional with more than 20 years of progressive management experience, seven of those being in the education sector. As president of Collins College, Murphy is responsible for the day-to-day leadership and management of the school, including guiding business operations and providing direction for the college’s programs and future direction. Murphy also serves as a liaison between Collins College and its parent company, Career Education Corporation (CEC).

This is Murphy’s second career with the company, having previously worked as Vice President of finance at both Gibbs College Boston and LCB Boston until her departure in early 2008. She left the company to assume the role of Vice President of admissions and operations for Bay State College, a 1,000 student propriety school in Boston. Prior to joining CEC, Murphy worked as Vice President of finance and operations for a large venture capital firm in Boston.

“We are looking forward to working closely with Christine and are confident that her strong leadership, broad experience and proven track record will bring great success to Collins College,” said Tom McNamara, Senior Vice President of Art & Design, CEC.

“I’m proud to join an academic institution recognized by the Arizona Private School Association for our placement practice, student organization and retention completion program,” said Christine Murphy, President. “For over 31 years, Collins College has remained focused on providing our creative-minded students the best possible outcomes.”
Murphy has a Bachelors degree in finance from the University of Massachusetts and an MBA from Boston College.
