The challenge for James Marc came not in the request to design a website and logos for use in a variety of marketing vehicles but also to help design the look and feel of the app itself. This afforded the James Marc team with an unprecedented opportunity to ensure that the look and feel of the website and logos was in sync with the app design as well. Approaching this challenge was an exciting moment for the James Marc team but as the app was developed it allowed the design for the website and logos to take form as well.

The desire of the Skinny Qik creators was for the both the app and the site to present a clean, relaxed feel with one of the two logos designed tying them together. For the site, choosing a font that was pleasing to the eye and easy to read, the designers took a minimalistic approach to the layout, presenting a welcoming image that would engage site visitors as they learned about the product. With an easy to use interface, navigating the site is a breeze for anyone curious to learn more. The app, designed for smaller screens, presents a compact and engaging interface that is fun to use and keeps the user focused on the goals.

The creation of two logo’s might seem unnecessary but was done with an eye toward both sides of the business. The logo that appears on the website and in the app was created with the same goal as the avatars used by many social media sites, that being to be an easily recognizable marker for the product and company. The second logo, employing a sleek horizontal design that is defined by the company name, Skinny Qik. The letters are designed to present a slim profile and the overall structure of the logo allows it to be used on various business documents where a more corporate feel is better suited.
