Shell also signed an agreement with an affiliate of Grupo Terra for the sale of Shell's downstream businesses in El Salvador. That sale is subject to regulatory approval.

“A major series of cross-border transactions like this would not have been possible without a diverse Haynes and Boone team of Spanish-speaking U.S. and civil law attorneys, and extraordinary coordination between Shell’s in-house legal team, our firm and local counsel at Consortium – Central America,” said the project team leader, Houston Partner Ricardo Garcia-Moreno. “It has taken 10 months of intense activity to bring these deals to fruition. I couldn’t be prouder of our team’s performance or the outcome.”

Haynes and Boone team members included Dallas partners Alberto de la Pena and Larry Pascal, Houston associates Karim Shehadeh and Jennifer Brand, Dallas associate Manuel Diaz, Mexico City associates Maria Emilia Miquel Verges, Gabriela Salazar Torres, Armando Cuevas and Mario Bours, and Mexico City foreign associate Patricia Mastropierro.
