CourtRecords.us.org is doing a complete review of their court records database to see where data may be missing, the company announced yesterday.

“Our database is only as accurate and up to date as the authorities that provide the information,” a CourtRecords.us.org spokesman said. “In the course of compiling reports for our clients, we sometimes see a pattern of outdated or missing information from a certain locality. That's what we're hoping to highlight with this review.”

The newest initiative is one phase in what the company is calling their “nationwide service” mandate, he said.

“We always strive to be the best in the business,” he said. “And one of the ways we can do that is to ensure that we can plug up the data 'holes' whenever we can, so that we have the most comprehensive reports online.”

Once the review is completed and towns and counties have been identified, the initiative will move into a second phase, he said.

“The first part is identifying where data may be missing,” he said. “Then we will contact the authorities in those areas to see if there is a way the data can be automated or otherwise uploaded so that we can have access to them. It's what makes the Freedom of Information Act such a powerful tool.”
