Now Retailing in Armstrong Garden Centers, Cyber-Rain Helps Homeowners Stay Afloat Amid Rising Utility Costs

Home Automation Devices Alleviate Consumer Worries During Economic Slump

Westlake Village, CA (Vocus/PRWEB ) November 17, 2008 -- Amid the current economic slump, homeowners drowning in utility bills can buoy themselves with money-saving home automation devices like the Cyber-Rain XCI set to retail at Armstrong Garden Centers November 2008. Cyber-Rain CEO Diana Schulz announced today that Armstrong Garden Centers, the largest independent retail nursery company in the Western United States, has made the Cyber-Rain XCI available at five key Armstrong stores now and they will be available throughout the rest of the chain in February 2009. Stores currently carrying the Cyber-Rain XCE include Thousand Oaks, Santa Monica, La Habra, Costa Mesa and San Diego. The Cyber-Rain XCI retails for $399 and typically pays for itself within a year through water savings.

"Cyber-Rain is continually working to expand our national distribution network," says Ms. Schulz. "Partnering with Armstrong Garden Centers has been an important step for us in gaining our brick-and-mortar presence and reaching consumers on a more intimate level."

Cyber-Rain, the smart controller with a brain, is easy to use and easy to install, giving users a convenient way to save up to 40% on their watering bill. Homeowners can install the unit themselves in under an hour. Once programmed, the Cyber-Rain XCI uses smart PC and wireless technology to automatically adjust watering cycles with data pulled from local online weather reports. With an estimated 58% of water being consumed by the average yard, the Cyber-Rain smart sprinkler controller is just one of many home automation devices engineered to conserve precious resources and save homeowners money.

In accordance with an executive order handed down from California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, on June 4, 2008, that addresses the State's drought situation, many California municipal water districts began offering significant rebates to encourage uptake of home automation devices like the Cyber-Rain XCI smart sprinkler controller. Rebates are available throughout the Southern California water municipalities. In Orange County they can cover the full $399 purchase price of Cyber-Rain, making the unit essentially free.

"Partnering with Cyber-Rain is a perfect example of our commitment to earth-friendly, sustainable practices and products," says Monte Enright, Executive Vice President for Armstrong Garden Centers. "Cyber-Rain allows our customers to conserve water while maintaining a green and healthy lawn."
