DIA Innovation Forum to Highlight Latest Initiatives in Research & Development in the EU

The Drug Information Association (DIA) will host the first Innovation Forum (29-30 September; London, UK).

Basel, Switzerland (Vocus/PRWEB ) August 12, 2008 -- The Drug Information Association (DIA) will host the first Innovation Forum (29-30 September; London, UK). This brand new conference will feature experts from the European Medicines Agency (EMEA), the Committee for Medicinal Products for Human Use (CHMP), the European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations (EFPIA), the European Commission, European Biopharmaceutical Enterprises (EBE), EuropaBio, Eucomed and senior industry representatives.

Session topics will include:

  • Innovative Medicines Initiative
  • Qualification of Biomarkers and Novel Methodologies
  • Role of EMEA in Relation to Innovation
  • EU Commission and EMEA Implementation
  • EU Commission and EMEA Implementing Technical Requirements
  • Risk Management, Pharmacovigilance and Traceability
  • GMP and GCP Issues

Participants will be briefed on the latest initiatives in Europe to support innovation in research and development and will be able to share the FDA experience with the implementation of the Critical Path Initiative and coordination with the EU initiatives. The conference will provide a platform to discuss the implementation of the European Parliament and Council Regulation on Advanced Therapy and the EMEA draft technical guidelines.
