Denver, CO (PRWEB) May 23, 2012

The Werner Law Firm reports that during the first quarter of 2012, Rich Werner and his legal team have recovered more than $2 million dollars for the accident victims they have represented in personal injury cases. The Denver based injury law firm recovered over $5 million on behalf of plaintiffs in 2011. Most of Werner's clients suffered damages from truck and car accidents in Colorado.

Auto accident cases in Colorado can be complicated, particularly when serious injuries are involved. Mr. Werner says, “The real problem is that most accident victims don't understand their rights and the underestimate how much an accident has disrupted their lives, both personally and financially. "

This was illustrated in a recent case* in which Mr. Werner represented an accident victim who, in 2009, had been rear ended by a commercial truck while traveling on Interstate 70. Both Social Security Disability and Colorado Workers Compensation had determined that the client was permanently disabled and unable to work. The insurance carrier for the trucking company had offered his client $9000. *District Court, Denver County, State of Colorado: Case Number 2011CV2966.

“Mr. P. came to our firm and we were able to recover $850,000 from the insurance company,” says Mr. Werner. He adds, “Insurance companies will invariably attempt to settle for as little as possible. While these offers may cover some of the immediate medical expenses, they won't begin to cover the costs of ongoing treatment, necessary modifications to the home in order to accommodate disabilities, and loss of income.”
