Disabled Sports USA (DSUSA) will host its upcoming Adapt2Achieve conference at the University of Washington in Seattle from Sunday, August 19 through Tuesday, August 21, 2012. Through train the trainer sessions, the Adapt2Achieve conference aims to enable DSUSA chapters and other community partners to provide improved services in their local communities. This conference will feature adaptive trainings in archery and rock climbing. It will also include administrative, fundraising, social media, and program development sessions.
“It’s an exciting time for Disabled Sports USA as we continue to grow and partner with more organizations that share our mission to provide opportunities for individuals with disabilities to develop independence, confidence and fitness through participation in community sports, recreation and educational programs. We are excited to offer these regional conferences in response to the ever increasing need and the exciting innovations and advancements in adaptive sports and recreation,” said Kirk M. Bauer, JD, executive director of Disabled Sports USA.
The Adapt2Achieve regional conferences are held on average twice annually in different regions of the country. This enables each conference to be specifically tailored to the needs of each region. For more information, please visit http://disabledsportsusa.wix.com/adapt2achievenorthwest2012#.
