Diversified Business Communications’ co-located food shows, the International Boston Seafood Show(IBSS) and the New England Food Show (NEFS), drew a professional audience of over 28,000 to Boston during the March 20th to 22nd events. The shows spanned 450,000 gross square feet in the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center and attracted participants from over 130 countries.

“The co-location of these events provides both our attendees and exhibitors with access to a broader spectrum of products and greater market access,” commented Nancy Hasselback, President & CEO of Diversified Communications. “This is our second year co-locating these events and both experienced jumps in attendance and increased booth sales.”

The International Boston Seafood Show celebrated its 30th anniversary and had record attendance, partly due to high demand for seafood. The event continues to be the largest gathering of seafood professionals in North America and has become a venue for major seafood industry announcements. Walmart and Sam’s Club US unveiled their new sustainable seafood policies at the event. Stand-out new products were recognized as part of the Seafood Excellence Awards.

In addition to a wide array of food and equipment products for the New England food professional, The New England Food Show showcased pavilions that focused on environmentally-friendly products, beer, wine and spirits. Beginning last year with the first co-location, NEFS was expanded to include retail as well as foodservice, with excellent industry response.

The “fun-factor” was visible at both events with record-breaking crowds attending the annual oyster shucking contest at IBSS and crowded chefs’ demonstrations at NEFS.

The events will be co-located again next year from March 11th to 13th at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center.
