Good Doctor - Patient Communication is Possible

Dr. Wurzbachers new world-wide survey solicits questions about communicating with doctors. Everyone should answer this one simple question What's the one thing you'd like to know about communicating with your doctor". It takes only a moment and theres a gift of a sample book chapter. The survey is at http://www.askyourdoctorsaidwhat.com .

San Antonio, TX (PRWEB) October 22, 2006 -- People complain about their doctors all the time. But what do they do about it except complain? More accurately -- what CAN they do about it? Now they can join others in telling Dr. Terrie Wurzbacher what problems they run into when trying to communicate with their doctors. She has created a world-wide survey of just ONE question. Nothing could be easier (perhaps the only tough part would be narrowing it down to JUST one question).

Dr. Wurzbacher is collecting these questions to further address the issues - via blogs, lectures, newsletters, interviews, articles and a sequel to her forthcoming book Your Doctor Said What? Exposing the Communication Gap" (to be released in January 2007).

The survey asks for a question only, no email address or name. Dr. Wurzbacher thinks that some people might be hesitant to respond if they have to give that information. Those that want to follow the results can subscribe to the Your Doctor Said What?" Newsletter at http://www.yourdoctorsaidwhat.com . The website has a plethora of information including articles and blogs that discuss communication issues. As a reward for asking a question, a sample chapter of Your Doctor Said What? Exposing The Communication Gap" is available for download.

Its important to note that this is not a place for folks to ask medical questions. None of the questions will be answered directly. The whole purpose is to collect information.

Dr. Wurzbacher wants to start a wave of change and help empower patients to get the most information to their doctor in the short period of time they are allotted as well as receive the most valuable answers while at the doctors office.

This worldwide survey at http://www.askyourdoctorsaidwhat.com offers an opportunity to help others learn how to talk with their doctor!

Your Doctor Said What? Exposing the Communication Gap" website is at http://www.yourdoctorsaidwhat.com .

About Dr. Terrie Wurzbacher
Dr. Wurzbacher is a retired Navy physician (Emergency Medicine) and has a passion for improving communication between doctors and patients. It was early in her career that she realized that this was a tough job in an Emergency Department and that she wasnt very good at hearing what the patients were saying to her. Since she was involved with training medical students and interns, she decided that she had to lead by example. She embarked on trying to teach people that patients really are just like doctors but wearing different clothes and standing opposite one another. Her book Your Doctor Said What? Exposing the Communication Gap" is due out in January 2007.
