New Job Board for Women at www.DowntownWomensClub.com

The Downtown Women's Club, a professional network and career website for women, has relaunched its website with recession-proof pricing on its new job board ($30 for 30-days). The goal is to encourage employers to hire women, as recent studies have shown that female employees can thrive better than male colleagues when switching companies during difficult times.

Cohasset, MA (PRWEB) May 28, 2008 -- The Downtown Women's Club, a professional network and career website for women, has relaunched its website with a new job board and a mission to help businesswomen create their dream careers. In recognition of the current economy and as a thank you to employers who value female employees, www.DowntownWomensClub.com has partnered with www.indeed.com to reduce the price of job postings to $30 for a 30-day posting through the end of the summer.

"We realize that despite the tough economy there are still employers out there hiring," says Downtown Women's Club CEO, Diane K. Danielson, "We have an incredibly talented, experienced and well-educated pool of members and site visitors who we want to match with employers who value women."

Why should companies hire women in tough times?
"Recent studies have shown that female superstars have an easier time switching companies than their male counterparts," says Danielson referencing a study reported on in the February 2008 Harvard Business Review about how female star analysts had more success switching companies than their male counterparts. The authors of the study credited this to two things: (1) These women had external networks (as opposed to the men, whose networks were focused more within their employer), and (2) the women took greater care assessing their new employers.

"This is why employers are looking to the Downtown Women's Club," Danielson states. "The thousands of women who visit www.DowntownWomensClub.com have taken it upon themselves to build their network and learn the skills to make them superstars."
