DuPont has been named among the world's leaders in ethics reputation, earning first place in its industry sector and 10th overall among more than 500 multinational companies, according to the annual global Covalence Ethical Ranking Report.
Based in Geneva, Covalence is an independent research organization that tracks and reports on multinational companies' "ethical rankings" through a reputation index based on 45 criteria areas across a broad range of categories including sustainability, ethical business practices, corporate social responsibility, international cooperation, labor standards and human rights. Covalence evaluates published media articles, reports by non-governmental organizations, news releases, websites and other information sources in measuring reputation of companies on ethical issues. It ranks global companies in 18 sectors.
DuPont was named No. 1 in the chemical sector and cracked the top 10 overall - both firsts for the science company -- among 541 global companies evaluated from the Dow Jones Titans Sector.
"Ethics are among the core values which have guided how DuPont conducts business for 206 years," said Donna H. Grier , DuPont vice president -- general auditor and chief ethics and compliance officer. "We set high ethical standards for our company and people.
