DynaMed™ Adds AHFS Drug Content Combining Drug Reference Information with Decision Support Resources
Content from the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists Now Part
of the Point-of-Care Resource from EBSCO Publishing
Ipswich, MA (PRWEB) November 14, 2007 -- DynaMed™, the point-of-care resource known to supply the best available evidence, has teamed with the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists to incorporate more than 800 AHFS (American Hospital Formulary Service) drug records within DynaMed.
For the first time, comprehensive drug reference information from AHFS has been combined with comprehensive disease reference information. Clinicians are now able to access complete, current and relevant drug information that is as easy to use as it is to find. Integrating the independent, frequently updated information from the AHFS into DynaMed's systematic literature surveillance process, which is updated daily and based on the best available evidence, provides users with unparalleled decision-support information.
DynaMed Founder and Editor-in-Chief, Brian S. Alper, MD, MSPH says the additional information is the latest advance for a database designed to improve the access to the most useful information to healthcare providers. "Adding AHFS drug records within DynaMed offers healthcare providers with another way to synthesize the information they need on a daily basis. Drug information, like medical information, is subject to change as studies and trials are released. The best care comes from having access to the best information as soon as it is available."
DynaMed is updated daily and monitors the content of over 500 medical journals and systematic evidence review databases and is the only evidence-based reference resource shown to answer most clinical questions during practice. Users are able to link to the full text of articles available in a hospital's library via other EBSCOhost® databases from within the DynaMed clinical summaries. CME/CE credits are also available to DynaMed users and subscribing institutions. DynaMed content can be integrated with electronic health records (EHR) making the information from the clinical summaries available from within a patient's EHR.
