Web2 Corp Division Gaining Traction in Mission to Bring Small Business to the Internet

Chamber of E-Commerce Sales Force Reaches 500 in First Two Weeks

Orlando, FL (PRWEB) October 10, 2006 -- In the two weeks since it began advertising for Chamber Representatives in online classifieds, Web2 Corp’s (NASDAQ: WBTO) Chamber of E-Commerce division has registered over 500 Reps and put the first 40 through their training. Created as the ultimate part-time job that can become a full-time career, Chamber Representatives bring an unprecedented package of service and support to small businesses that want to move onto the Internet, but do not know how to, or do not wish to spend the funds traditionally required to hire someone to do it for them. The personal touch of a Chamber Representative explaining how it works and providing assurance that the average person can put up an e-commerce site in a few hours with no technical skills is a key to customer adoption.

The Chamber offers several hundred templates for clients to use as the basis for their own website. Each is fully customizable to match the industry and personality of the business owner. Each also has a built-in shopping cart and payment processing included in the low base price. “We know of no other package that makes a fully functional site with ability to take orders and process payment as standard features,” said William Mobley, Chairman and CEO of Web2 Corp. “We have just added a slew of new templates that range from small mom and pop formats to Fortune 500 formats. Our goal is to provide a selection that meets the needs of any business out there.”

With this product in hand, Chamber Representatives are asked to simply talk to the people they see each day. “We each pass dozens of small business operators each day. What we teach Representatives is that each of these people are likely interested in a website, they know the Internet is growing and will be a place that their business must be to compete, but many are fearful that they don’t know what to do or how to do it. The Chamber wraps not only the technology of their simple site building tools, but also the information advice and support that a small business will need,” said David Elliott, Director of Sales for the Chamber. “A few minutes of friendly greeting to the yard maintenance man, painter, bug sprayer, nail technician or any other small business owner can put our Reps on the trail of a sale. This is a great part-time job that can grow into meaningful income over time due to the recurring nature of our commissions,” says Elliott.
