Los Sueños Marriott Ocean & Golf Resort Supports Earth Hour 2009
Los Sueños Marriott organized ecological activities along with its associates and hotel guests .
With the purpose of inaugurating the "Environmental Awareness Month", Los Sueños Marriott Ocean and Golf Resort joined Earth Hour 2009´s global call-out with the purpose of communicating and celebrating the resort's commitment to developing environmentally sustainable operations.
(PRWEB) April 4, 2009 -- In the wake of this global event, Los Sueños Marriott organized along with its associates and hotel guests ecological activities, such as typical dances, ecological hiking tour, Special Time with the Chef (serving organic food) and an art exhibition.
In addition to this, the Orotina School Band gave a special musical performance, the Al Gore documentary about global warming was displayed with the purpose of creating awareness about climate change and getting people involved in acts that will benefit the future of the planet.
Laura Miranda, Marketing Manager, pointed out that at Los Sueños Marriott a Costa Rica Resort Hotel they believe in environmental awareness, despite the challenges of the global economy. Leaders and other people worldwide are focused in finding feasible solutions that will not affect the environment and we decided to join this cause.
To set off "Environmental Awareness Month" we wish to encourage the participation in green initiatives and Earth Hour 2009, an easy to participate event, Miranda mentioned.
Earth Hour is an international event held annually. It was created by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF). This event is held every last Saturday of March, where each family home and company is notified of the request of turning off all unnecessary energy and appliances for an hour, in order to promote the quest of fighting against climate change.
This year, on March 28 at 8.30 p.m, millions of people around the world will turn off their lights for an hour. The purpose of this is to link together a billion of people that hail from more than a thousand cities and create a single global effort that will help develop key conversations about the future of the planet.
Marriott International is encouraging its 3000+ hotels around the world to take part in this global calling. Earth Hour 2009.
In addition, Marriott International has designed April as the "Environmental Awareness Month" in order to communicate and celebrate the company´s support towards the development of sustainable operations, inform about environmental issues and involve its associates in environment-related activities.
