Energy Curtailment Specialists Introduces Green Roots Initiative
Energy Curtailment Specialists announces latest environmental campaign.
Buffalo, NY (Vocus/PRWEB ) August 4, 2008 -- Energy Curtailment Specialists, Inc. (ECS), the largest privately held demand response provider in the country, has announced their latest environmental campaign known as Green Roots Initiative.
As part of Green Roots Initiative, ECS will donate 10 trees to one of America's national forests for each customer that enrolls, through the Arbor Day Foundation's Trees in Celebration program. Through Green Roots Initiative, ECS projects they will donate nearly 10,000 trees annually.
"The commitment by ECS to plant trees will have a lasting impact on our environment," said Matt Harris, president of the Arbor Day Foundation. "The trees planted by ECS will help restore wildlife habitat, clean the air we breathe and protect soil and waterways. We commend ECS for planting trees in honor of its customers."
The Arbor Day Foundation will provide a certificate to the company being honored as confirmation and also to inform the honoree which national forest the trees will be planted in.
"We are constantly sending the message that joining our program is an environmentally friendly course of action, but we wanted to take our environmental stewardship one step further with Green Roots Initiative and we decided to honor our customers at the same time," said Glen Smith, president, co-founder and chief executive officer of ECS.
According to the Arbor Day Foundation, over the course of 50 years, a single tree can generate $31,250 worth of oxygen, provide $62,000 worth of air pollution control, recycle $37,500 worth of water, and control $31,500 worth of soil erosion.
