Entrepreneur Magazine Names Peterbilt Dealership Chain One of America's Fastest Growing Companies

The Pete Store Inc., a chain of Peterbilt Dealerships based in Maryland, experienced sales growth in excess of 300 percent and job growth of 416 percent in the last four years, earning it recognition from Entrepreneur Magazine. The company operates six Peterbilt Truck dealerships throughout the eastern United States.

Baltimore, Maryland (PRWEB) August 28, 2007 -- In a recent Entrepreneur Magazine ® ranking of America's 500 fastest growing companies The Pete Store, Inc., a Peterbilt Truck dealer group with six locations in the eastern United States made the list at #97.

With sales growth in excess of 300% and job growth of 416% in just four years, the Maryland-based truck dealer was the highest ranked automotive company and the only truck dealer to make the list. The sales numbers are based on fiscal 2006 and are not inclusive of the three new locations recently acquired in March.

Making the Cut

The Hot 500 rankings are compiled with the help of Corporate Research Board, a Washington D.C. based research organization. Entrepreneur Magazine and CRB started with CRB's database of more than 19 million U.S. businesses and considered businesses that met several sales and job growth criteria. Only 95,000 businesses - or 0.5 percent of the 19 million businesses - met the criteria. It was from this list Entrepreneur Magazine selected its Hot 500.
