Kitson Boards is pleased to announce the launch of environmentally friendly water-based paints for all their custom carbon fiber surfboard and paddle board creations.

While their basic board comes in a clear coat, fully displaying the carbon fiber texture, customers choosing to add a design or color to their board can be assured that the paint used is not only environmentally friendly, but according to KB Design Engineer, Travis Dodge, "Wont add as much weight to the board than a synthetic polymers paint."

Using a water-based finish also adds a green element to products because it’s non-flammable, non-pollutant, low odor and, therefore, overall safer to use than petroleum-based paints

“What drives our desire to use this product, is that its safe for our employees to use and, since it’s water based, we are essentially creating zero waste and doing our part in lowering our carbon footprint,” said Michael Kitson, President of Kitson Boards, LLC.

In addition to the use of environmentally friendly stains and lacquers, Kitson Boards, recycles all unused and scrap materials, and purchases carbon credits to offset their impact on the environment.

Founded by Michael and Denise Kitson, Kitson Boards, LLC headquarters is located in Olympia, WA. Kitson Boards are all crafted out of the ultra durable and long lasting carbon fiber material. All production of surfboards, paddle boards and wakesurf boards, as well as the people behind the brand are based in North America.
