We’re thrilled with the progress we’ve made and the great feedback we’ve received thus far
CultureMob.com began in Seattle with a quiet release in December of 2007. The site has enjoyed high engagement and consistent month-over-month growth in its first city. Expansion to Denver and Portland is part of a long-term plan to cover the entire United States.

The site includes more than 1200 live concerts, movies, theater, sports, art, comedy and education events throughout the greater Portland and Denver markets. Geographic coverage in the Denver area includes Fort Collins, Boulder, and Colorado Springs; Portland market area coverage includes Eugene, Newport, Salem, Beaverton and more.

Culturemob.com helps people discover, promote and share local events.

Event attendees discover great events using CultureMob’s personalized recommendations (based on users’ iTunes playlists and other sources); rich content including videos; and ability to save, comment on and share events with friends. Faceted browsing makes it easy to discover new events by genre, location, date, and more.

CultureMob provides several tools to help artists and venues promote events. Promoters can upload events into the system where they will be accessible to CultureMob users and distributed to other local listings services. Events in CultureMob can also be promoted using CultureMob’s email notification service and CultureMob’s Facebook and MySpace calendars which keep an artist’s or venue’s events up to date in all services with no ongoing maintenance.

Enthusiasts can share their passion and expertise for events on the CutltureMob platform, calendars on FaceBook, MySpace, and elsewhere.

“We’re thrilled with the progress we’ve made and the great feedback we’ve received thus far,” commented Steve McCracken, CEO. “But this is just the beginning. We’re expanding the services we offer our patrons and enhancing our content every day.”

A for-profit company backed by Benaroya Capital and many of Seattle’s leading angel investors, CultureMob’s social mission is “to strengthen our communities in the way that only arts and events can: creating greater vitality, new ideas and more meaningful connections between people and groups.” The team includes serial entrepreneurs who have achieved success together in the past.
