Indiana State has become the latest NCAA university to select FieldTurf for its football stadium. FieldTurf, the world leader in artificial turf, is being installed at ISU's Memorial Stadium and will debut when the Sycamores open their 2009 football season on August 27 against Quincy.

Terre Haute, IN (Vocus/PRWEB ) August 4, 2009 -- Indiana State has become the latest NCAA university to select FieldTurf for its football stadium. FieldTurf, the world leader in artificial turf, is being installed at ISU's Memorial Stadium and will debut when the Sycamores open their 2009 football season on August 27 against Quincy. The new FieldTurf at Memorial Stadium will replace the AstroPlay that was installed in 2001. The FieldTurf installation is nearing completion and is fully on schedule.

"We are pleased to begin our season on a new quality FieldTurf surface," said Prettyman. "The crew from FieldTurf was great to work with and met the agreed upon deadlines. Their sessions with our staff regarding upkeep and maintenance of the surface were informative and thorough."

"We're obviously delighted that Indiana State has chosen FieldTurf for Memorial Stadium," said Fields. "Ron (Prettyman) and his staff put a lot of time and effort into making their selection, and we're proud that they picked FieldTurf. We strongly believe that our product and our customer service are far and away the best in the industry, and it's always rewarding whenever our efforts pay off with yet another university putting their trust in FieldTurf."

"Our team is extremely excited to be able to practice and play on the new FieldTurf," said ISU Head Football Coach Trent Miles. "Our playing surface is now the best in the Missouri Valley Conference. FieldTurf's track record and their client list are second to none nationally. I am looking forward to getting our preseason practice underway and playing our first game on August 27 against Quincy on this new high quality surface."

Memorial Stadium, which serves as the home of Sycamores football, previously served as a minor league baseball park. Indiana State has a long history of playing its home football games on artificial turf, and in fact, in 1967, ISU became the first university to own and maintain outdoor use of an artificial playing surface.

More than 50 top NCAA universities currently play their home games on FieldTurf including Nebraska, Ohio State, Michigan, Texas, West Virginia, Washington, Oregon, Wisconsin, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas State, Boston College, Indiana, Minnesota, Missouri, Texas Tech, Rutgers, Syracuse, Cincinnati and Louisville. Twenty-one of the NFL's 32 teams presently utilize FieldTurf in their stadiums and/or practice facilities.
