Irving, Texas (Vocus) April 27, 2010

Web-based file storage service, FilesAnywhere, today announced its new app that enables viewing, sharing and management of remote files via Android-enabled phones. The FilesAnywhere Android storage app allows users to upload photos and contacts as well as manage, share, email and even fax an assortment of digital files, all from the Android phone.

FilesAnywhere provides secure and convenient access to all file types.

“The most popular files uploaded and shared on FilesAnywhere are project documents, spreadsheets, letters, resumes, sales presentations, music, photos, digital movies and school projects,” said Tim Rice, president of FilesAnywhere.

The service allows users to instantly and securely send links to online file storage folders to anyone, anywhere, and provides immediate confirmation of delivery. Users can also keep secondary backups of important files or keep confidential or personal files saved securely off-site.

“This application is the first of its kind for the Android,” stated Rice. “This app together with our cloud storage system provides a totally unique remote file solution that no other app has for this mobile operating system.”

Available through Android Market, FilesAnywhere 1.0.3 displays all of a user’s folders and files, plus shared folders from other users. The application allows for online document hosting, including photos, contacts and videos, from the phone as well as the downloading of files from the remote drive and the option of viewing content in portrait or landscape modes.

Users can open photos, videos, music or documents via applications they have installed on their Android phone, such as Photo Browser, Android Video player or PDFViewer. They can also use the new Android app to share and send large files, folders, email or fax content worldwide, and perform file management tasks remotely, such as copying, moving, renaming, deleting and viewing file details.

FilesAnywhere also has a group access feature allowing teams to access the same folders from any location and work on files together using the Version History feature, along with detailed tracking, alerts and the ability to open prior versions of a file.

New users can sign up for a free 1,000 MB account directly from the app, but those who already have FilesAnywhere accounts can use the app to manage and share their existing files on FilesAnywhere.com.
