Fine Art Inkjet Photo Paper Unveiled at PhotoPlus Expo

(Vocus/PRWEB ) November 9, 2007 -- In the tradition that began with one of the finest silver-halide, black-and-white papers ever made, Calumet introduced its new super-premium fine art inkjet paper at PhotoPlus Expo. Brilliant Museum digital media have been especially formulated to meet the high standards of the most discriminating fine art printers.

Brilliant Museum is made in Germany to exacting specifications using the most technologically advanced methods. These pure cotton rag and alpha-cellulose fine art papers are optimally coated for the latest pigment ink sets, but will also secure superb results with dye-based inks. They will yield extremely high resolution and amazing color depth. Each surface and substrate was carefully specified to satisfy the key attributes essential to exhibition-quality artwork.

The Satin Matte is a 100-percent cotton rag substrate media and features a rich, satin-matte surface that, unlike some matte surface papers, is not a dead or flat matte. Our special SilverGloss papers are acid-free, alpha-cellulose papers that emulate the classic air-dried glossy fiber-based silver-halide papers of the master black & white printers.

Both the Satin Matte and SilverGloss are available in two different base tones: One features a non-brightened, neutral base that is not the usual dull yellow found on many of the non-brightened, fine art papers on the market. The other one comes with a slightly, optically-brightened, yet archivally proper white base that is elegantly subtle.

Brilliant Museum in Four Variants:

  • SilverGloss White: Traditional silver fiber air-dried gloss type surface on a bright white, alpa-cellulose base. ISO brightness: 104.
  • SilverGloss Natural: Traditional silver fiber air-dried gloss type surface on a natural white alpha-cellulose base. ISO brightness: 89.
  • Satin Matte White: Smooth matte-satin surface on a bright white, 100% cotton rag base base. ISO brightness: 100.
  • Satin Matte Natural: Smooth matte-satin surface on a natural white, 100% cotton rag base. ISO brightness: 88.5.

All four types are a heavy, 300 gram per square meter weight with a thickness of between 18 and 19 mils.
