Liberty Players Experience the Navy, Open the Garden to Fleet Week
New York, NY (PRWEB) May 21, 2008 -- N.Y. Liberty Teammates, Tiffany Jackson and Essence Carson, will be among the first to visit USS Kearsarge (LHD 3) once it arrives in Manhattan May 21 for Fleet Week New York, the Citys celebration of the sea services.
Jackson and Carson will tour the ship and meet with Sailors and Marines to offer shooting tips and defensive tactics and, in exchange, will learn about life aboard a ship from the service members.
The tour will be hosted by Fire Controlman 1st Class Lindsey Carroll, a Kearsarge Sailor who will be honored during the Liberty game against Washington Thursday night. The Military Appreciation Game will recognize female Navy, Coast Guard and Marine Corps service members for outstanding accomplishments.
In recognition of sacrifice and service, Liberty will host 500 service members at Madison Square Garden for their game May 22.
The public is welcome to visit the participating ships, May 22 -- 27. There will be a number of exhibits showing off the technology of our maritime services and the skilled expertise of our service members.
