Columbus, OH (PRWEB) January 17, 2014
An issue about mold arose at Columbus Police Headquarters. And in response to a report about it, Florida mold inspection company AGC Environmental gave out an advice how the public could prevent a mold concern from becoming a full-blown problem.
Based on a report from 10tv.com dated January 14, 2014, the issue about the fungus started with the bursting of water pipes in the 8-story building in January 08. It said that it caused flooding in the headquarters damaging its ceiling tiles, carpets and even computers.
Following the incident, the report related that the detectives at the 6th and 7th floor of the building also complained about a pungent odor and coughing. Those complaints, relayed AGC Environmental, were linked to mold exposure, which prompted the Fraternal Order of Police union president, Jason Pappas, to advise the officers to take the threat seriously.
Meanwhile, it was said in the report that some four dozens employees were relocated after the incident. As it shared, air quality tests were also implemented in the building.
Below is an excerpt from the report.
“The Fraternal Order of Police union president met with top police brass on Tuesday to make sure the city is doing everything possible to make sure flooding inside headquarters isn't creating a health threat.
Detectives assigned to the 6th and 7th floors have complained to both the FOP and 10TV about a pungent odor and coughing. FOP president, Jason Pappas, visited those floors today and says
he's advising officers to take the threat of mold exposure seriously.”
While it's true that mold infestation could be prevented, there are circumstances that make it unpreventable, said AGC Environmental. Flooding is one of them, it stated. And because anyone could be a victim of such incident, it advised the public to be ready to prevent the mold issue that it could bring from becoming a full-scale problem.
When a mold threat arises, the company specifically suggested to the public that a mold inspection and air test must be promptly implemented. As it explained, early confirmation of mold presence would save anyone from the worst things that it could bring to health and finances.
Nevertheless, for a Florida mold inspection, AGC Environmental stated that the residents should go for its service. Among other companies, it said that it is the one that could offer the best mold inspection and removal as its consultants and exterminators are certified experts.
In addition to that, the company said that they also offer helpful insights and hard data to its clients. Those, it elaborated, could be used for insurance claims, court purposes and purchase of new houses,
