January 15, 2010, Southern Resorts Vacation Rentals is both excited and grateful to be celebrating a milestone of 15 years in business, representing now 640 Florida vacation rentals.

Back in 1995, two separate, local vacation rental management businesses began almost simultaneously. The first, owned by brothers Mike and Brad Shoults was Pointe South Vacation Rentals. Within a month’s time a second, similar company owned by another set of brothers, Kevin and Kerry Veach was born - Southern Resorts. Both companies grew and flourished and by 2002, the owners saw the benefit of combining forces to grow one even stronger company. Taking on the name, Southern Resorts Vacation Rentals, the company it is today emerged.

Still owned by both sets of brothers, the number of Florida vacation rentals represented by Southern Resorts has grown immensely. With origins in Destin, Fort Walton Beach and the Beaches of South Walton, Southern Resorts has, over the last 15 years, extended the breadth of coastline covered, too. Adding the Forgotten Coast of Mexico Beach, WindMark Beach and Port St Joe offered Southern Resorts’ guests a timeless vacation reminiscent of years gone by. Transitioning into Panama City Beach in 2007 gave Southern Resorts an exciting opportunity to be part of redefining the area as a family oriented vacation destination. Moving to the west, Southern Resorts set up operations in Pensacola Beach in 2009 and for 2010 have just acquired their first rentals in Navarre Beach.

Stretching over 150 miles of beach, Southern Resorts Vacation Rentals plans to continue to grow while the owners are still committed to their fundamental philosophy of exceeding the expectations of both the owners whose Florida vacation rentals they represent as well as the visitors staying in those properties. “Growth is important to us, but our first priority is making sure we are doing things right by the people who entrust their properties and time with us,” says Mike Shoults, co-owner of Southern Resorts.
