GSA Acting Administrator to Retire After 36 Years of Service

U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) Acting Administrator David L. Bibb today announced his intention to retire from government service effective September 1st to pursue an opportunity within the real estate industry.

Washington, D.C. (Vocus/PRWEB ) June 25, 2008 -- U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) Acting Administrator David L. Bibb today announced his intention to retire from government service effective September 1st to pursue an opportunity within the real estate industry. Bibb has been contemplating retirement since the fall of 2007. He is currently the Acting Administrator for the agency, and has also been serving as GSA's Deputy Administrator since 2003.

Bibb's renowned career with GSA began in the agency's Atlanta office in 1971 as a Management Intern. During his tenure at GSA he has held several executive level positions including Assistant Commissioner for Planning and Deputy Commissioner within GSA's Public Buildings Service (PBS) and Deputy Associate Administrator for Real Property within GSA's Office of Government-wide Policy (OGP). He was also instrumental in the development of a number of innovative environmental and workplace initiatives that have now become standard practice at GSA.

Bibb is a recipient of the Presidential Rank Award of Distinguished Executive, the foremost award available to members of the career Senior Executive Service, and is a two-time recipient of the Presidential Rank Award of Meritorious Executive. He has twice received the Administrator's Distinguished Service Award, GSA's highest honor.

GSA provides a centralized delivery system of products and services to the federal government, leveraging its enormous buying power to get the best value for taxpayers.
