Akron, NY (PRWEB) February 06, 2014
A new shelter and more landscaping are just a part of the new renovations at Destroyer Park Golf as the park golf course prepares for the spring and summer seasons.
The renovations will be complete in time for spring, making Destroyer Park Golf the ideal facility for parties, corporate events and other outdoor functions. Destroyer Park Golf can package golf, food, beverages and snacks for all events or offer the shelter for rental to those who want to hold their own party. Destroyer Park Golf can be booked for corporate outings, team building, fundraisers, reunions and more. Guests can enjoy a party under the shelter, or try out the first ever park golf course in the United States.
Park golf, which was invented in Japan, takes elements of both golf and croquet and combines them into one sport. Players try to hit the ball into a hole with a club in the fewest number of strokes, but the course is much smaller than a traditional golf course and the ball is much larger, like a croquet ball, and made of plastic. Also, only one club is used for every shot.
Destroyer Park Golf opened this past June in Akron, N.Y. and includes two nine-hole courses. The renovations have added more landscaping to help beautify the course and provide more shade. The shelter will help attract more groups for events.
The 2013 season closed with the CD Wright Community Center PARK GOLF Tournament for Help & Hope in October. The tournament included a fundraiser featuring a basket raffle. More than $4,000 was raised. The inaugural season saw a strong patronage from competitive, youthful and family groups. In 2014, Destroyer Park Golf hopes to attract more senior groups, veterans and individuals with special needs. The course lends itself to people of all ages and abilities.
