4th Annual "All Star Golf Car Show"
Increasing demand for customized golf cars spawns unique car show
Myrtle Beach, SC (Vocus/PRWEB ) September 18, 2008 -- Ocean Lakes Golf Car Sales & Service Center is hosting a show for customized electric golf cars in the 4th Annual "All Star Golf Car Show" on Saturday, October 18, 2008. Show participation has nearly tripled since its first year, having 60 participants entered in last year's show. The majority of participants are from the East Coast, many from the Carolinas. However, some come from as far north as Connecticut and as far south as Georgia. There were 40 repeat participants in 2007.

During the show, all entries are split into three categories, which include: Customized Lifted, Custom Body, and Traditional Style. Each category has first, second, and third place winners. Awards are given to the Best Paint overall, as well as a Fan Favorite winner. Each winner is rewarded with a certificate and a preselected prize. The show also offers a chance for all participants to win door prizes that have a total prize value of almost $3,000. Some prizes included a Marine Clarion Radio, a set of wheels and tires, titanium locking dash, and more! All prizes are donated by vendors and participating Campground departments.
All participants receive a goody bag that includes items like discount coupons to the golf car service department and the RV center, food voucher, and an "All Star Golf Car Show" T-Shirt. The show ends with a Halloween themed golf car parade open to all campground guests. The "Cars in Costume Parade" features the custom show cars and decorated golf cars. The parade route circles throughout the 310 oceanfront acres of the campground.
Ocean Lakes Family Campground's "All Star Golf Car Show" started in October 2005. The show was inspired by Ocean Lakes' founders, Nelson and Mary Emily Jackson. They have a collection of customized golf cars, which can see driving throughout the campground. On any given day, visitors see Mr. Jackson driving in his old time "horse and buggy" golf car; or Mrs. Jackson in her Model-T golf car. The "All Star Golf Car Show" was created to display the many customized cars that guests bring to the campground every year.
The Ocean Lakes Golf Car Sales and Service department has felt the impact from the increasing rave of the "must have" customized golf car. The Service Department has five year-round full time mechanics, and two seasonal mechanics. On average, Ocean Lakes mechanics will custom build about three golf cars a month for customers to match their specifications. Due to this, Ocean Lakes' golf car accessories inventory has increase tremendously within the last few years.
