The website http://www.grandslamfantasytennis.com is an exciting new fantasy tennis site with a fresh approach. Designed by lifelong tennis fans, the site provides a fantasy tennis experience that is fun for both experienced and new tennis fans. With Wimbledon starting on June 22, now is a great time to join for free and launch your own fantasy tennis team.

Alison Mah-Poy of Montreal joined the website before the Australian Open earlier this year. A self-described "big tennis fan," Mah-Poy said that she enjoys the interactivity and the ability to easily pick team members and predict matches.

"You can be as involved as you want," she said. "It's great for people who are tennis fans and who follow the tournaments."

The rules of fantasy tennis on http://www.grandslamfantasytennis.com are easy. There are two parts to the competition:

Before the tournament starts, players create a team of eight male and female singles players who they think will do well in the tournament. They also predict the tournament finalists and the winner. Then, starting with the fourth round, players predict the winner of each match before it begins. Players gain or lose points depending on how far their team advances and the outcome of the matches they predict. The website sends email reminders about selecting winners and a daily email with current results and point totals.

Each of the four grand slam tournaments is a self contained fantasy event - there is no need to manage a team throughout the year and everyone starts at zero before the grand slam begins. The site also has a tennis blog and a forum where fans discuss matches and players throughout the tournament.

Justin Lehrer of Berkeley, Calif. said that the site is "easy and not intimidating."

"The website is a great source of information," he said. "I'm a tennis fan and this site is getting me back into it."

Jen Clarke of Brooklyn came in second place for her picks during the recent French Open. She said she pays particular attention to the grand slam tournaments and is a big Federer fan. She said that the website is fun, easy to use and not time consuming.

"I did well in the French Open," she said. "I'm always a big fan of the underdog. I pick a combination of players who might win and a couple of up-and-coming hopefuls. This year I really pulled for some of the French players."
