The Griffith Insurance Education Foundation has awarded $15,000 in grant money to three universities to support their Risk Management and Insurance (RMI) programs. The grant monies came from the Robert P. Ashlock Memorial Fund, which was established in memory of the former president and CEO of Assurex Global, an exclusive partnership of the world’s premier independent insurance agents and brokers.
Arcadia University, Ohio Northern University and Western New England University each received grant money to support the development of new risk management and insurance programs. “Career placement rates for graduates with RMI degrees have reached 100 percent at some universities; it’s an extremely sought after degree for employers,” said Jason Terrell of the Griffith Foundation—the organization that manages the Ashlock Fund. “The grant monies will help encourage the growth and expansion of these university programs by providing vital funds for additional faculty positions.” All three academic programs submitted proposals to The Griffith Foundation, which outlined their expansion goals and pinpointed their specific program funding needs.
