HCG Diet Direct discusses increased health risks with overweight men. Obesity results in an increased risk for many common ailments and chronic health issues, but in particular it is a risk factor for common cancers. A study in Cancer Epidemiology, Biomarkers and Prevention (a Journal of the American Association for Cancer Research) recently indicated that men need to be aware of the link between obesity and prostate cancer.
The results of the study offered conclusions specific to ethnicity and age that left a clear connection between prostate cancer and weight that will require further study, but that leave no doubt that weight plays a role when it comes to prostate cancer risk.
Jenny Boynton of HCG Diet Direct said, "Most people assume that most of our dieters are women. And they're quite wrong. I'd feel pretty comfortable saying that most of our dieters are men. They do get to benefit from higher averages of weight loss while on the diet; 2 pounds per day on average."
Current study conclusions are that further study will be required and that in general, healthy weight is optimal for health regardless of age, gender or ethnicity.
