Haag-Streit UK (HS-UK), the leading manufacturer and distributor of gold-standard optometry and ophthalmic equipment, is pleased to announce the launch of the Optovue AngioAnalytics software.

Officially launched at the AAO meeting in Las Vegas this week, the new AngioAnalytics quantification software is an expansion of Optovue’s innovative OCT-A technology. The AngioVue OCT-A system, launched earlier this year, is the only commercially available OCT-A system on the market capable of imaging and displaying the function of the ocular microvasculature, through a non-invasive procedure. The innovative system uses a unique dyeless technique to quickly evaluate the functional blood flow of the retina and optic nerve. This method allows the procedure to be performed in everyday clinical practice and unlike fluorescein angiography, can be repeated as often as required, and with no risk to the patient.

The addition of AngioAnalytics to the state-of-the-art AngioVue system provides the user with objective data. This unique software offers a number of tools to measure and quantify flow, non-flow and flow density. These new and pioneering capabilities may lead to the improved clinical management of diabetic retinopathy and Age-related Macular Degeneration (AMD).

Jacqui Kenyon, HS-UK Product Manager, said, “The addition of AngioAnalytics is really exciting. The feature may allow changes in the retina to be tracked at a much earlier stage. This could lead to modifications in the way treatment is managed for diseases that cause progressive vision loss.”
