Recordable Storybooks make great alternatives for those who still want to “read” to a child or other loved one, even when they cannot physically be present.
Kansas City, Mo. (Vocus) July 14, 2010
Hallmark Cards, Inc., today announced the expansion of the Hallmark Recordable Storybook collection, introducing three new titles to the popular line of gifts.
Hallmark Recordable Storybooks feature voice-capture technology that records the reader’s voice directly into the pages of the Recordable Storybook. When a page is turned, the book automatically plays the text on that page in the reader’s voice.
First introduced during the 2009 holiday season with “The Night Before Christmas,” Recordable Storybooks make great alternatives for those who still want to “read” to a child or other loved one, even when they cannot physically be present. Consumer insight has revealed these gifts also can serve as a family keepsake, as the sender’s recorded voice lasts for the life of the Recordable Storybook.
The new titles, now available in Hallmark Gold Crown stores, are as follows:
- Hey Diddle, Diddle! — For adult readers to share with a special child. Little ones can also be recorded reading the rhymes all by themselves. Clever, unique illustrations add extra fun to this classic collection of nursery rhymes.
- Thank You, God, for Everything! — This Recordable Storybook is filled with short prayers that celebrate the small miracles throughout a child’s day.
- My Little Princess — A playful story with a message of celebration, encouragement and love. A parent, grandparent or other adult can read and record this story for a special “little princess” in their life.
“Since the release of the first Recordable Storybook, we’ve heard hundreds of stories from our consumers of how these Storybooks have touched their lives by allowing the sender to put a piece of themselves into the gift,” said Hallmark product manager Jonathan Bowyer. “Ideally, these new titles will continue to help loved ones share treasured moments with one another, regardless of how near or far they may be.” For a look at some of these treasured moments, watch Hallmark’s “Connecting Families, Creating Memories” video at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x9vUstEdziU.
Ten Hallmark Recordable Storybook titles are currently available in Hallmark Gold Crown stores nationwide. Each title retails for $29.95. For more information, visit http://www.hallmark.com/recordablestorybooks.
