This revolutionary fundraising application provides all the necessary tools to engage our existing fans on Facebook as well as obtain newfound support from others that are currently beyond our reach.
New York, NY (PRWEB) June 14, 2012
The BizGym Foundation today announced that it is launching an annual fundraising appeal using FanFunder, a new Facebook-based, collaborative fundraising application to support the Lemonade Alley and Camp BizGym programs which each promote business and financial literacy for kids.
Lemonade Alley’s annual kid-biz contest features student teams competing for $1,000 cash prizes in three age divisions, ranging from kindergarten through high school. Students design lemonade stands, write simple business plans using the BizGym online tools, create lemonade drinks and pitch their ideas to judges. High school students also promote their businesses through You Tube videos, Facebook, Twitter and other social media. All event proceeds support local charities.
In addition to the Honolulu competition, Lemonade Alley is conducting regional contests hosted by ING Direct in Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York City, Chicago, Philadelphia, St. Cloud, Minnesota and Wilmington, Delaware. Winning teams will receive free trips and admission to Camp BizGym.
Camp BizGym is a business literacy program with an island twist that takes place in Honolulu, HI August 14-19, 2012. Kids will experience a fun-filled business challenge, exploring the Hawaiian rain forests and beaches and applying principles of business and entrepreneurship through hands-on activities. Each team will be developing their own business ideas and the camp will culminate with another competition and Hawaiian lu‘au celebration ceremony.
“We are thrilled to be an early adopter of FanFunder,” said Alyssa Hui of BizGym Foundation. “This revolutionary fundraising application provides all the necessary tools to engage our existing fans on Facebook as well as obtain newfound support from others that are currently beyond our reach.”
“FanFunder launched less than 24 hours ago,” said Neil Closner, co-founder of FanFunder. “We have already received calls and applications from dozens of charities who have been looking for this exact solution. We are truly honored to count BizGym Foundation among our first of many worthy charity clients and hope that they will be extremely successful in their fundraising efforts.”
