“but I also hope it inspires them to start thinking about what they really want to do with their lives, rather than putting it off for a rainy day that never comes. I want them to realise that if I can do it, then anyone can.”
Darlington, England (PRWEB) August 20, 2014
After divorcing her husband, Helen Carver, at age 50, took a huge leap of faith. She quit her “safe” job in real estate agency, rented out her house and, with her 19-year-old daughter in tow, left England to travel the world.
Her hilarious new world travel book, “Life Begins at Fifty: One Woman’s Life-Changing World Trip with her Teenage Daughter” (published by Balboa Press), recounts Carver’s adventure of a lifetime as she and her teenage daughter traverse unfamiliar territories, finding plenty of laughs along the way.
For six months, Carver and her daughter sped around the world, visiting Mexico, New Zealand, Australia and lots of other countries. Together, they experience new cultures, different foods and meet a host of wonderful characters along the way. Their joie de vivre is infectious as they go skydiving, white-water rafting, hiking up glaciers, jumping off waterfalls and posing naked in front of one. Their crazy, madcap antics show the reader that life really is for living.
“Life Begins at Fifty” celebrates living life to the absolute max. Carver’s relationship with her daughter offers a humorous, personal touch to the narrative, as the two bond over their wild and wonderful experiences. Carver hopes her inspirational story will touch readers from all walks of life, and will illustrate that age is no barrier to having the time of your life.
“I want them to laugh out loud,” Carver says, “but I also hope it inspires them to start thinking about what they really want to do with their lives, rather than putting it off for a rainy day that never comes. I want them to realise that if I can do it, then anyone can.”
