Helius to Acquire PointeCast
Helius expands its training and learning offering with acquisition of PointeCast Corporation.
Lindon, UT (PRWEB) May 16, 2007 -- Helius Inc., the worldwide leader in IPTV solutions for business, today announced it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire PointeCast Corporation, a leading global provider of rapid-communication and online training solutions.
With the addition of the PointeCast product line, Helius continues to expand its leadership by adding rapid content authoring tools. PointeCast's Publisher product allows users to enhance Microsoft PowerPoint presentations with real time quizzes, surveys, response tracking and other multimedia features and then instantly convert them into the Adobe Flash format for easy integration. PointeCast's robust learning management system (LMS) enables customers to administer and track e-learning and training courses.

As the use of rich-media for training and corporate communications increases, the combined company will be well positioned to service enterprise and single license users.
The acquisition is expected to be completed in the second quarter. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
