How about a majestic and jazzy garden? Make that one that’s completely constructed in about four hours . At 6:00am on July 10, the Hursthouse team will show up on Main Street with not just a few trees and a patch of sod. About The 2010 Hursthouse Jazz Fest Glen Ellyn Garden

If Jazz Fest Glen Ellyn is a red-hot night for Chicago area jazz lovers, the event’s Hursthouse Jazz Garden is equally compelling for award-winning landscape design fans. With a reflection theme, the 2010 Hursthouse Jazz Garden features a mirror pond. Bob Hursthouse, president of Hursthouse, inc., estimates the reflection garden will contain 3,000 plants and will take 200 hours to build and deconstruct. It’s the kind of project that makes Hursthouse giddy.

Taking the garden to the party is a feat few landscape architect and contractor firms would be willing to try – especially for a party that lasts only a few hours. After all, trucking in thousands of plants, building an outdoor room and then disassembling it all in 12 hours is a massive project. Yet, for Hursthouse and his team, The Hursthouse Jazz Garden really is all in a day’s work. With three years of practice at the task, 2010 marks the firm’s fourth Jazz Fest Glen Ellyn garden. A permanent, year-round Hursthouse garden graces downtown Glen Ellyn at the corner of Main and Crescent. And, thousands of Hursthouse Inc. landscapes and gardens grow in Chicago’s suburbs.

Hursthouse Celebrates Twenty Years of Leading Landscape Architecture and Design

With projects ranging from a temporary show-stopping streetscapes like the Jazz Garden to master plans for estates, to petite retreats to home/resort backyards, the Hursthouse team approaches every project with a proprietary system. Called The Landscape Fulfillment Process, the system is one of many factors that differentiate the company as an industry leader committed to consistently building landscapes that are ‘More than just a View’.

“As we celebrate our twentieth anniversary, we look back with gratitude to thank our clients and our team for their confidence, their creativity and their trust,” Hursthouse says. “When we design landscapes for our clients we look ahead, not just at how the landscape will change as the plants mature, but also at how their family’s life will evolve over time. Every landscape we design for our clients is meant to align with their life lines.”
