Phoenix, AZ (PRWEB) May 17, 2012
LawLogix Group, Inc., the leader in I-9 and E-Verify Compliance Software, announced today that it will host a free webinar and open forum on the recently proposed Form I-9 and its impact on employers. To be held on Thursday, May 24th at 11:30 AM EST, the one-hour webinar will feature a panel of I-9 experts, including special guest, Amy Peck, a global immigration attorney with the renowned labor and employment law firm of Jackson Lewis LLP.
“Since the new proposed Form I-9 was introduced in March of this year, I’ve received dozens of calls from employers who are understandably concerned about how these changes will affect them,” said attorney and guest panelist, Amy Peck. “While I applaud the USCIS for revising America’s most complicated one-page form, I think they underestimate the impact this will have on employers, large and small.”
Form I-9 compliance continues to be an extremely hot topic in 2012, as employers across the nation grapple with increasing employer audits, new E-Verify legislation, and changing I-9 requirements. Notable revisions to the proposed Form I-9 include expanded instructions, a new 2-page form layout, and additional data fields for both the employee and employer to complete. The public has until May 29, 2012 to submit comments and suggestions.
“Regardless of whether you love it or loathe it, the overall look and format of the I-9 form has been fairly consistent during the past twenty-five years,” said Dan Siciliano, who is co-founder of LawLogix and Director of Stanford’s Rock Center for Corporate Governance. “With these proposed changes looming, now is the time for employers to voice their concerns and make suggestions for a more efficient (and effective) I-9 process moving forward.”
This special LawLogix webinar will include a discussion of the major changes to the Form I-9 and how these may impact employers using either paper or electronic I-9 systems. Attendees will also have the opportunity to submit suggestions and comments regarding the new proposed form to LawLogix, who will in turn send them directly to DHS for consideration.
